  • A dead deer with large antlers lying on the ground in a grassy field with hills and mountains in the background.

    Red Deer

The Monarchs of the Glen and the majestic woodland stags are our largest UK land mammal.  A stunning creature and a must for all stalkers to pursue, especially during the "Rut".  To be amongst red deer in their stunning natural habitats of open hill or a shaded woodland glade is truly an unforgettable experience.

  • Dead deer with antlers lying on the back of a truck bed.

    Sika Deer

A very shy, private and elusive deer which makes for both a challenging and exciting stalk.  These secretive creatures are widespread in Scotland but are also found in patches of middle and Southern England.  Their eerie whistles and screams piercing the air from their preferred habitat of dark coniferous woodlands makes for an exciting stalking experience.

  • A dead deer with antlers lying on dry grass, with a rifle placed nearby.

    Roe Deer

Roe deer are one of the most popular UK deer species and are highly prized for their beautiful pearled antlers.  They are also one of the oldest deer species with records dating back to the Mesolithic period.  The roe deer is abundant throughout the UK and favours a mixture of habitats, woodland and forest edges, copses, scrublands, open hill ground, thick hedgerows and arable land.

  • Deer lying on the ground with a hunting rifle and scope behind it in a forested area.

    Muntjac Deer

A small stocky little character, also known as the " Barking Deer" and a loud bark it is for such a small deer.  A wonderful and exciting deer to stalk on foot with their peak activity time at both dawn and dusk.  Muntjac have adapted to a huge range of habitats and are found in abundant numbers in the home and Shire counties of Southern England.

  • A dead coyote lying on grass next to a scoped rifle with a black stock.

    Chinese Water Deer

Facially Chinese Water Deer look like small golden bears but with very prominent "Tusks", which puts them high on some stalkers wish lists.  They are a non native species, initially introduced to Deer parks in the south of England; with subsequent escape and release the UK population is now thought to account for 10% of the worlds total. Their preferred habitat includes woodlands, arable land, river edges and wetlands and they are abundant in selected areas of the UK.

  • A dead deer with large antlers lying on grass, with a rifle resting on its back, in an open field.

    Fallow Deer

These elegant deer have long been prized as an ornamental species with their impressive palmated antlers. Fallow Deer are abundant in England, Wales and parts of Scotland inhabiting mature broadleaf woodlands and open agriculture areas. A fantastic species to stalk during the “Rut”, as you listen to the bucks with their guttural grunting.
